Loraine Ann Fritts

Loraine Ann Fritts, age 91, of Great Meadows, NJ passed away peacefully on August 5, 2017.  Loraine was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 30, 1926.  She lived in Ohio, California and Toronto, Canada before moving to New Jersey where she lived for more than 60 years.  She enjoyed traveling, gardening, riding horses, reading, playing card games with family and watching the birds and wildlife that visited her home.  Loraine worked part time into her 80’s as a home health aide, helping elderly people stay in their homes as long as possible.

She is survived by her husband, Rodger A. Fritts of Great Meadows, NJ; daughter Vicki Kuziak and son-in-law Tad Kuziak of Avon, CT; daughter Linda Veech of Fairplay, CO; daughter Terry Birckholtz of Hillsboro, OH; and her son Michael Moseley of Clovis, CA.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Lisa, Burke, Frank, Alex, Elizabeth, and her great grandchildren Vivian, Henry and Daphne, and her nieces Annette and Connie.

Loraine was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry L. Birckholtz, her sister Valina Asbrock, her brother-in-law Clifford Asbrock and her nephew Robert Asbrock.

Loraine’s family is especially thankful for the love and support of cousins Arley and Lyn Smith and aide/special friend Georgianna Denton who gave Loraine the freedom to continue living in her home.  We would also like to thank Dr. Robert Werner, Loraine's long-time physician, for his continuous support to Loraine and her family.  He was always there when Loraine needed him most.

Final arrangements were made by Coughlin Funeral Home in Califon.  At her request, there will be no formal memorial service.  She will be greatly missed.
